The app opens on the home page, which shows the sections that the content within the app is divided and classified into.
Tap on the three lines in the top left-hand corner to open the left-hand sidebar. From here, you are able to select specific content to read and you can also access your profile. To close the left-hand sidebar either select an article to view or tap on the three-line symbol again, which was originally used when opening the left-hand sidebar.
The left-hand sidebar can be used to browse the various sections. Simply tap on the arrow to the right of the section name to view the articles in that area and tap on the title of the article to read. To read more content within that section, you can scroll through the articles by swiping right to left, or by going back to the left-hand sidebar.
Recording learning activities
To complete a learning activity based on an article in the app, open the article and after reading it, click on the icon that looks like a piece of paper in the top right-hand corner of the app. Select the activity you wish to complete from the list. The title will automatically be filled with the name of the article. Enter the information into the other fields and click on save. Should you not be able to see the save button, close your keyboard by clicking the minimise keyboard icon, or done.
Planned and unplanned learning activities, and forms to document peer discussions and reflective account activities. are available to be selected on each article on the app. Information on recording planned and unplanned learning can be found here.
Some CPD articles will also have MCQ or test modules linked to them. These ask a series of true or false questions based on the article. Please check your answers before moving on to the next question, as MCQ or test modules cannot be retaken at present.
To search for relevant content by keyword, go back to the left-hand panel and select the magnifying glass (middle option on the bottom of the panel). This will take you to a search function – enter the relevant keyword to search and results will be displayed underneath. To view content, press the title.
Bookmarks and notes
Should you wish to bookmark a piece of content and add a note to it, simply select the star icon in the top right-hand corner. The title will automatically be populated with the headline of the article. If you wish to add a note, there is an option for you to do this. Click on save to record the bookmark and note.
Clicking on ‘Go to my profile’ opens up your profile page. The information at the top of the page can be edited by clicking on the pencil icon. To save your information click on the blue save button at the bottom of the edit your profile page. If you can’t see the blue save button, scroll up the page and it will be visible.
On the ‘My profile’ page, there will be a record of all the forms completed as well as any bookmarks, notes and MQC modules. These records can either be added through the above process at an individual article level on the app, or as a standalone record.
To create a standalone record, click on ‘Add new record’, select the type of record you wish to complete, complete the fields and select ‘Save’. This new record will then appear in the list under the learning activity undertaken.
Emailing your revalidation record
Your revalidation record can be emailed to you by clicking on the ‘Export summary’ box. Enter your email address and the record will be sent to you.
