Software that will be installed on your server
We supply an installation package, downloaded via a secure URL. Updates are provided by a similar route.
The installer script will deploy the following:
- Framework: Java Runtime Environment
- Web service: Apache Tomcat
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Application: FormularyComplete
We are aware that some customers may have not have certified support for PostgreSQL. We will support this feature via our technology partner. PostgreSQL is part of the installation and is an efficient means of querying and amending BNF/local formulary data. No Microsoft SQL licences need to be purchased.
Installation time is approximately 10 min on a standard physical server.
FormularyComplete can be installed and run within a virtual server (VMware, Virtual-box, etc).
Customers deploying to a virtual environment must ensure that enough CPU and memory are assigned to allow the application and database to function properly, as we do not directly support virtualization. 4GB of memory with two or four processors seems to work well, but this depends on how many end-user connections are expected at any one time.
Operating system: Windows XP or later.
Browser: Internet Explorer 6 or later; Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or later.
After installation the application can be reached across your network with a localhost URL using port 8080.
